St George’s Flags Raised Across Midway...

St George’s crosses have been spray-painted onto roads and roundabouts across Midway overnight - with flags also flying on motorway bridges, flyovers and in high streets across the region. Pedestrian crossings, give-way markings and mini-roundabouts in Chattingham and Stroochester were found daubed with red crosses this morning, while St George’s flags lined many streets.

Patriotic and not at all right-wing rabble-rousing display of our national emblem...

Similar displays have appeared along major routes, with flags hanging from motorway bridges and lamp-posts.

The wave of flags and road markings appears to be part of a fast-growing national trend dubbed ‘Operation Raise the Rabble’, which has seen similar scenes unfold in towns and cities across England in recent weeks.

Harry Hardnutt: right-wing

The campaign was started by local Midway ultra-right-wing activist Harry Hardnutt (real name Tristan Barbie-Smyth).

“In the 1920’s, the Nazi Party hijacked the swastika, once a universal motif symbolising good luck and well-being, and transformed it into a symbol of race hatred and intolerance,” he explained.

“Our woke leftie politicians won’t allow us to fly our swastikas now, so instead we’ve hijacked the cross of St. George as the symbol of our hatred of forreners, or anyone who isn’t like us. And anyone else we don’t like, such as Tofu-eating, sandal-wearing woke lefties who call us a bunch of thuggish far-right racist Nazi-worshippers, just because we are.”

“So we’ve made the flag of St. George our English swastika,” boasted Mr. Hardnutt.

“That means we can pretend we’re just being patriotic when we go and terrorise a few frightened immigrant families in hostels,” he explained.

“And anyone who doesn’t agree with us is obviously just a traitorous leftist hater of England and its proud history.”

“Tolerance is a great English virtue. So let’s not waste it on the millions of Muslim rapists, shoplifters and terrorists have crossed the English Channel in an armada of small boats and who are now terrorising the towns and cities of our glorious country, turning them into lawless war zones while the police and our government stand by and do nothing”

“Or at least, that’s what we’re telling everyone ‘cos we all know it’s true,” said Mr. Hardnutt.

“I’m hoping all shit-stirring will lead to a few decent riots like we always have in the summer. Then we can get to bitch and whine about “two tier policing” and Labo*r’s suppression of our right to protest when true patriots such as myself get locked up for expressing our right to free speech by means of a little harmless looting, arson and violence.”

Trickie Dice; SMEER campaign

Trickie Dice, chairman of the Really Extreme Far-Out Rightwing Maniacs Party UK PLC®™© and leader of the Society of Millionaires for the Election of Extreme Right-wingers (SMEER), agreed.

“Our boy Niglet the gargoyle has feeding our tame UK media the “Lawless Britain” line all this summer, and they’ve just been lapping it up like they usually do,” laughed Mr. Dice.

“It’s all a load of bollocks of course. Overall crime figures have been going down for the past ten years, but we can’t possibly let people think they are actually safer on the streets than they were back then. Then they might not be scared and angry, and that’s no good to us at SMEER at all.” 

“So we’ve been getting our right-wing press to pump out a load of rubbish about migrant crime, ‘Lawless Britain’ and, of course, a constant stream of shit directed at the incumbent Labo*r government.”

“And now we've confected a load of outrage about ‘flags’. And people go for it! It’s a fantastic diversion issue, just like “illegal immigrants”. Obviously, we don’t want people looking too closely at the cause of societal collapse in the UK. Otherwise they might realise that it’s been caused by people like me and my mega-rich chums, who’ve been buying up and asset-stripping every single worthwhile industry or service in the UK for the past 20 years and siphoning the UK’s money into our offshore tax havens.”

“So by inventing a few distraction issues and inflating them out of all proportion, that will give the credulous UK public something to get scared and angry about, rather than directing their anger at us.”

Sean O'Braincell; true patriot

The sudden flag displays have prompted heated debate on social media.

Some have praised them as a “symbolic reminder of our identity, culture and past”, while others view them as divisive.

One commenter, Sean O’Braincell, said: “People want to show they are proud to be British and English. It’s not extremism or racism just to hate forreners, is it?”

Others criticise them, however. One commenter (who preferred to remain anonymous because of fear of reprisals) said: “Nothing says ‘chav’ more than hanging up or wearing a St. George’s flag these days. It’s become the English swastika - a symbol of thicko England.”

Flags. FFS. Summer-time silly season, but with sinister overtones.
Nevertheless, it’s solid platinum click-bait over in the real-world. And of course, their pet trolls are out in force, wrapping themselves in the flag of pure patriotism, whilst at the same time invoking all the same old right-wing tropes about “illegal immigrants” and “Lawless Britain” as an excuse for far-right shit-stirring hatred, which is all just an expression of freedom of speech in their eyes. Until anyone who disagrees with them tries to have a say…
Doubtless our most popular local online news outlet will be looking to run loads more pointless articles about the flag-shaggers in pursuit of click-bait revenue.
