The Really Extreme Far Out Right-wing Maniacs UK Party PLC™®©'s new administration at the County Council has announced plans to abandon the sale of its headquarters and has pledged to force 500 staff back into the office.
Leader Lotte Drittereich shared the authority’s “first big savings” discovered by the newly-launched Department Of Political Expediency (DOPE) at a full council meeting.
Earlier this week, R.E.F.O.R.M. UK Party PLC™®© owner and Leader-For-Life Niglet the gargoyle promised announcements today (July 11).

Cllr Drittereich said: “One of ze R.E.F.O.R.M. UK Party PLC™®© key political dogmas is getting staff back into ze office. Since ze Covid lockdowns, ze office space here at ze county council has remained limited and zis woke, leftist home-vorking has become commonplace.”
“Zis must stop. Everyone knows zat all council vorkers are lazy feckless skivers and so we will be forcing zem all to return to vork, zo zat our new ‘Human Capital’ team can keep zem under complete control zo zey can punish and demonise zem.”
“I have been vorking to implement an ‘Arbeit Macht Frei’ Office De-population’ plan. Our aim is to make our workplace conditions so bad zat our council staff vill all resign. Ve will even be introducing an 'employee of ze week' scheme, zat is how much ve hate our staff!"
“Ve estimate zis vil save £wibblewibblemillion pounds zis year alone. OK, so no-one vil be around to run council services, but who cares? Ze main thing is zat ve get to claim huge cost savings and make a lot of noise for our tame right-wing media to sound off about.”
Since the party took office in May, Cllr. Drittereich claims that “the level of debt has reduced by some £wibblewibble millions, a saving of £wibblewibble per day in interest payments alone” and added their “no more borrowing” policy will reduce this even further, by more than £wibblewibble million, by next March.”
Among the other cost-cutting measures it will introduce, green property modifications will be scrapped, which it claims will save £wibblewibblemillion over four years.
“Ve vil be cutting out zis green crap, vitch everyone knows is a woke libtard climate change scam created by lefties who hate our fossil-fuel political mega-donors.”
Cllr. Drittereich said: “My team has made up zese totally bogus savings to boast about in just a few short weeks.”

She added that by the end of this month, it will have increased the number of road maintenance staff by 33% (from two people to three).
Meanwhile, other proposals mentioned in her speech included the scrapping of “brown bin” and “recycled waste” collections.
“Ve haff had enough of zis woke leftist recycling nonsense. People can just go back to having bonfires like zey used to. Ve estimate zis vil save another £wibblewibblemillion every year.”

Responding to the announcements, opposition councillors said:
“We've heard today a lot of hot air about so-called cuts that can be made, but it’s all verbal. This DOPE team haven’t put out a scrap of evidence to back up their claims of “huge cost savings” let alone issued a report. We need it set down on paper. In a local authority, nothing’s worth anything if it isn't written down.”
“The administration needs to set out in detail the cuts they intend to make; the effects they will have and then bring those to a relevant committee so they can be fully explored in a calm rational way, so that the public can be clear on how the cuts might affect families in the county.”

Agreed. Is anyone keeping a tally on these claims? From what's published here, R.E.F.O.R.M. claim they will save “millions” a year (the county council budget is in excess of £1 billion a year).
