Local News-Site Further Humiliates Drug-Addicted Mother

By Our Local Demagoguery Reporter

Simon Goebbels

A cocaine addict was so “smashed” on the school run that a member of the public took her car keys while other mums walked her children to class.

Parents had become concerned after the 38-year-old stopped her car in the middle of Gove Road, Stroochester

Worried that she was not in a fit state to drive, a woman took her keys while other mums walked her children the rest of the way to their school.

The police were then informed and she was arrested at the scene and later charged.

Harriet Logan, from Stroochester, admitted drug-driving and driving while unfit through drugs when she appeared before magistrates in Chattingham last Friday.

Harriet Logan: benefit-sponging druggie..
Jodie Cube, prosecuting, told the court Logan had stopped in the middle of the road with her children in the back in November last year.

Ms Cube said: “A woman took the keys because she looked like she wasn’t in a fit state to drive. She put her hand up and stopped her and did take the keys but then she parked up and some other women walked her children to school.”

Last Friday, magistrates jailed Logan for eight weeks but the term was suspended for 12 months. She was also ordered to carry out 50 hours of unpaid work. Logan was also disqualified from driving for 20 months and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £150 and £85 court costs. She will pay what she owes the court at a rate of £20 a month as she is on Universal Credit.

The chairman of the bench, Councillor Herbert Voletrouser, said: “I must say this is one of the worst examples of drug-driving I’ve come across”.

“However, I am pleased to say that Ms, Logan has sought help for her drug problems and is now making better choices in her life. She has taken full responsibility for her actions, has genuine remorse and is determined to rebuild her life”.

Nevertheless, this didn’t stop the MORON from taking her picture outside of the court and then publishing it, which makes sure that all of the other Mums at her kid’s school, along with anyone else, now knows what happened and what she looks like.

That’s what the “popular press” do, after all. Monetising misery is the name of the game.

We don’t care that the magistrates have already punished her.

We don’t care that Ms. Logan is trying to rebuild her life.

We don’t care about the impact of further publicity upon her children.

We don’t care about further humiliating Ms. Logan – and maybe driving her back into addiction - because we want the page views.

And we don’t care about the viewpoints of any deranged lefties who think we should show a bit of compassion and discretion.

Because it’s all about the clicks and the associated advertising revenue, so we couldn’t care less about any lives we might ruin in the process.

And it’s worked. Appealing to the base instincts of our army of insensitive, unthinking readership means we’ve got LOADS of page views and comments on this one. So, potentially trashing the life of a vulnerable woman and those of her children for a few extra clicks is well worth doing as far as we are concerned…

I don’t know what is more disgusting: the shameful behaviour of our local news-site or the merciless comments of some of the trolls…

Can I suggest that anyone moaning about Labo*r's proposed cuts to the benefit system read this!! These are the kind of people who need to be banned from claiming benefits and its absolute madness that she can "pay" her fine using money she takes from the state in the 1st place!! Can't pay a fine out of your own money? Then off to prison you go!! It really should be that simple

Now here ladies and gentlemen lies the problem in a nutshell. She can afford a coke habit whilst on universal credit! And a nice mobile phone. Perhaps someone should send this to all the deranged lefties in the Labo*r party.

Take her kids away and put them into care (don't condone this action, but its clear that she is incapable). Stop all her benefits. Sell her iPhone. Kick her out on the street with no home or money. That’ll teach her to be a recovering, benefit-scrounging druggie.

She comes from Stroochester. That’s a bit harsh, sending her back there.

It’s smartarse deranged lefties like you who are the problem. You all need rounding up and sending back to Russia.

She’s a danger to other road users, her children and herself. I wonder how much her children are missing out on, because of her cocaine habit? She’s not fit to be a parent.

I’m Harriet Logan’s eldest daughter. I can assure you my siblings have never ‘missed out’ on anything. Despite her current mental state and recent addiction problems, my mother is still a loving and caring person and we are a happy family unit. My Mum is trying as hard as she can to come off drugs and is deeply ashamed of what she has become. I suggest you try some compassion instead of knee-jerk condemnation.
Poor mental health is not a lifestyle choice, it is an illness. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.
Not even you.

Your mum doesn't deserve to have kids...
Clearly the children are just a source of a roof over the head and increased benefit entitlement.
Instead of writing on this story, I think your time would be better spent on the phone to authorities (for what good they are!)

Victor Laudanum replied:
A couple of singularly nasty, mean-spirited reactions, even by MORON troll standards. Kicking any addiction us an uphill struggle. Her children must hope that mum has the support she needs to help her manage her life, such that she can quit. Maybe staring jail time down both barrels will have a sobering effect, as might knowing about the health impacts of drugs.

I wish your mother all the best, Amanda. You seem like an intelligent young lady – in stark contrast to the vicious, stupid know-nothing trolls soiling the comments section here with their knee-jerk Daily Mail-style opinions. If they had any brains or humanity at all they’d be ashamed of what they are writing.
Moving away from addiction is a lifetime effort, you don’t just wake up one day, like, oh I'll never do that/think about that again. Not how it works.
Isn’t it great that these trolls can sit and judge others, having apparently never experienced addiction in their or their family member’s lives? I’m happy for them. Congrats.
The level of contempt in these comments towards someone struggling with addiction is disgusting. She should not have done it. I don't condone it in any way, but I do have empathy with someone trying to change something so difficult in their lives.. Not just this woman but lots of people need more support than they're getting currently because of government cuts.

I'm in no way excusing what this woman did-driving under the influence with children in the car is completely unacceptable. But the way this has been handled by our local press is just as disturbing.
This woman has already been punished, so who at the MORON thinks they have the right to extend that punishment by publicly shaming her like this? Addiction is a disease, not a moral failing, and plastering her lowest moment across the internet isn't going to help her or her children. It's not accountability - it's a click-bait witch hunt .
This woman worked, had a job, and was trying to live her life. Yet now she's been dragged through the mud in a way that seems unnecessarily cruel. She is still a mother, someone's daughter, someone's family. Does that mean nothing? It's easy to judge from a distance, but I hope those so quick to comment and act like they know what addiction is never have to watch a loved one go through it. I hope they never experience the pain of seeing a family member or even their own child battle something so dark. It's easy to sit behind a screen and call her "disgusting" or say she "deserves everything she gets," but unless you've lived it, you don't understand.
The press should be ashamed. Their reckless reporting and intrusive photos have done nothing but make an already tragic situation worse. Accountability is one thing - public humiliation is another. And until we start (that’s enough of this – you are starting to make sense and we can’t be having with that, that’s not what these comments are about – the Editor)

Oh do shut up!!! She's been treated like anyone else who's been convicted of a crime! You try and make out that she's the only one who's been further humiliated by the popular UK press after being punished by the courts. Nobody forced her to snort the stuff did they!!! I’m looking forward to Niglet the Gargoyle becoming Prime Minister and giving these druggies the punishment they deserve!!!! Roll on 2029!!!

‘Oh do shut up’ - so someone says something you disagree with and that's your response?
You will eventually discover that being addicted to Niglet the Gargoyle is a lot more damaging to your brain - if you have one - than any amount of drug taking.

Please refrain from trashing The MORON about publishing her photograph and general photography of people.
There are a lot of people that appreciate that The MORON takes the time to print the photos so that we know what the 'predators' look like. Children should be kept safe from all angles.

Amanda: Remember that this is the fetid swamp of MORON comments, where compassion and empathy receive no welcome. Showing consideration for the mental health of others or making any attempt to understand their struggles are also alien to the majority of contributors, if it gets in the way if their narrow, spiteful off-the-Daily Mail-shelf narrative.
Remember also that this site will quite happily look to monetise the misery of people such as your poor mother. I hope she succeeds in sorting herself out.

Not fit to own or drive a vehicle and not fit to have or bring up children. Take it all away, see how much responsibility she takes to get clean and become useful to society, and only when she has proved by her own efforts she has taken responsibility allow her to start having things back in her life.
People like her in the road kill innocent people. She's a menace and it should not be tolerated.
