And from next month they face the impact of a punishing tax hike which one pub boss says will be “worse than Covid” – with everyone reduced to poverty, businesses going bankrupt, mass starvation, the collapse of civil society….the Four Horsemen ride forth…..the Kraken Rises…..the seas boil….the skies rain blood….as Simon Goebbels reports…

That’s only slightly less than what Tory chancellor Rishi Sunak put it up to in his April budget in 2022.
But that was the shrewd move of a Tory chancellor faced with a difficult economic situation, so we didn’t say a word against it.
By contrast, this identical NIC
hike is the work of a Labo*r Chancellor and so must be a typical evil socialist
incompetent mishandling of the
For Sir
Martin Timm, the multi-millionaire Brexit hero whose Weatherforks national
pub chain has hundreds of branches across the
“It is bonkers for a little family-owned national mega-pub company like mine,” he said. “I think it's going to be worse than Covid. At least, for my staff it will be.”
“We only had a £2 billion turnover last year and a measly £70 million profit, even after we paid £15 million to our shareholders.”
![]() |
Sir Martin Timm: "Bonkers"... |
“So it’s back to the good old standbys of hiking prices, reducing quality, slashing maintenance budgets and firing staff. The staff can all go and get jobs in Tesco’s again, just like they had to when we shut down for Covid.”
“We were going to do all that anyway,” laughed Sir Timm, “but now we can blame Labo*r’s budget for it!”
"As for Re*ves lowering the threshold for employer NIC contributions from £9500 to £5000, that's great news for us. It means all the small pubs will struggle to afford the part-time staff they rely on and will go out of business. That'll wipe out our competition. Who says Labo*r isn't big-business friendly?"
But how will the increase impact you, if you’re not an employer?
Well, to make up the extra money now needed, we can expect prices to rise, the cost of services to increase, more uncertainty in our workplaces, a slowdown in recruitment and a slamming on the brakes of investment and expansion plans….. mass unemployment… soup kitchens….two-day working week….rotating power cuts….The Great Depression….Buddy Can You Spare A Dime….Bring Out Your Dead….War, Famine, Pestilence….we’re all doooooooooooomed….
What this country needs is a true Tory tax-cutting budget that we can praise from the rooftops until it all goes wrong, not an evil Labo*r raid on businesses that we can screechy shouty shrieky whine whine whiny whine on and on about as part of our campaign to throw as much shit at our democratically-elected government as we can until the next general election, so we can get a proper bunch of right-wingers in.
In short, we will all feel the impact of evil Chancellor R*chel from Accounts Re*ves. The question is, if further cuts are in the offing, just how seismic will that be?
We spoke to another Tory-supporting local businessman, Matthew Yapper.
![]() |
Matthew Yapper; "Ridiculous"... |
“But that’s clearly the fault of evil Labo*r Chancellor R*chel Re*ves and her ridiculous rise in employer NIC contributions, national minimum wage, statutory sick pay and VAT on private school fees.”
“It’s just ridiculous, expecting employers to stump up for woke rubbish like worker’s pensions, decent wages and sick pay.”
“We need to return to proper UK Victorian values. Bring back workhouses, smallpox, rickets and little children going up chimneys, that’s what I say.”
“That’s what made this country great….”
One local businessman is less concerned about this disastrous Labo*r budget, however.
Steve Nimble runs MicroStrad, a specialist company that makes really small violins, and says that business is booming.
![]() |
Microstrad: "Screechy"... |
“Our really tiny violins are just flying off the shelves.”
“I have a couple of full-time employees, but I don’t have a problem with the NIC tax rise. We’ve got to start raising taxes somewhere, in order to pay for 14 years of the Tories running the country down.”
“If this was a Tory tax rise I’m sure you wouldn’t be seeing all these screechy headlines in the right-wing press…”
And that wasn’t what we wanted to hear, so we stopped talking to Mr. bloody leftie Nimble.
The voices raising concerns have so far met with little government compromise.
Evil Chancellor R*chel from Accounts Re*ves took a break from lying about her CV to say that she hopes the government will “never have to deliver a Budget like this again” before going on to admit that “it’s not going to be easy for businesses”.
She added: “We made a commitment during the general election that we wouldn’t increase taxes on working people, because we know the shrieking right-wing press would have a field day with it if we did.”
“But they’re going to slag us off no matter what we do, so we might as well start taxing greedy rich bastards like they expected us to.”
“Trouble is, that’s really hard work. The bastards have got their tentacles everywhere and if we start trying to claw some of the money back they’ve bled out of the country over the last 15 years, they’ll just crash the stock market and screw us over.”
“So it’s back to taxing the
