Michelin-Starred Pub Restaurant In Buxley Village Destroyed By Fire

The Hedgefunder's Arms - devastating fire

A popular gastro-pub that had recently been awarded a Michelin Star has mysteriously been burned to the ground following what appears to have been an arson attack.

Fire-fighters were called to the Hedgefunder’s Arms in Buxley village on the outskirts of Chattingham in the early hours of Monday morning, but were unable to prevent the pub from being severely damaged.

“We’re absolutely devastated,” said the owner, a tearful Annabelle Upwoodly-Mowbyle. “We’ve worked so hard to build our restaurant up and everything was going so well. Now this has happened. I can’t think why anyone would have a grudge against us.”

Before the fire...
Local villagers were also upset. “Annabelle and Hugo are a really nice couple and have really made the effort to fit in with the residents here,” said one Buxley villager. “I hope they’ll be able to rebuild our old pub and start it up again. It really has become a hub of the village and we are as devastated as they are about it all.”

Security camera footage showed an Audi pulling into the pub car park at about the time the blaze was thought to have begun. Two men and a woman got out and appeared to throw petrol bombs through the pub windows and on to the thatched roof before speeding off.

“Having looked at the recordings in detail, we can confirm that we are looking for a woman and two men in connection with the incident. The two men appeared to be wearing white gloves and aprons and each had one of their trouser legs rolled up,” said a police spokesman.

“We would ask any member of the public who happened to be in the Buxley area at 3am. on the morning of Monday 8th to come forward so that we can arrest them and say ‘you might as well fess up cos we know it woz you wot dunnit ‘cos you were there’.”

The restaurant has had somewhat a chequered history of late and had very recently suffered a spate of poor reviews (see here and here) in spite of its Michelin-starred status.

Looks like an insurance job to me. Business losing money, easy, just torch it and let others pick up the cost through increased insurance premiums.

A rather nasty and cynical interpretation of events, even by your standards, Chad. The restaurant appeared to be doing rather well and was locally popular. This looks more like the work of an outsider with a grudge.

A typically stupid reply from Gay Morono Man, a typically stupid remoaning socialist La**or-supporting woke snowflake. Like all lazy parasitic leftist scum, he is a blight on society and as such isunable to hold any sort of discussion without resorting to vile, frothing insults. Crawl away and die, you tofu-eating, Guardian-reading pillock.

The manageress was known to have “an attitude” and has often demonstrated a lack of respect for her betters (such as myself) for which, it seems, she has now been appropriately punished. I, for one, am rather pleased that she has been taught a right and proper little lesson in manners. I hope she has now learned just what happens to those who try and thwart even the merest whim of this country’s ruling class, an elite to which I quite happily belong.

Sounds like we have a couple of likely suspects above and I hope that the police will (this comment has been edited for reasons of brevity – Ed.)
